Hey Guys,

I need to replace the LCD on my macbook pro 2.16 core duo. I purchased a brand new "compatible" replacement on ebay. It lists my exact model, so I got it and installed it. The problem is that it does not work right. When you turn it on all you see is the backlight turn on. The screen only comes to life when it gets into the OS. But this will only happen once, to get the screen to work in the os you have to reset the pram. Again each time you want to see the screen in the os you have to reset the pram.

When i reinstall the old cracked one it works just fine.

My question is do I have to find a genuine replacement to get this to work right or is my brand new "compatible" lcd faulty or really the right part for this unit?
