Does anybody actually think it's worth downgrading to 12.1.2 for this after this FaceTime bug came up?

Advice is to downgrade to 12.1.2 or 12.1.1 anyway for a jailbreak, @Pwn20wnd already tweeted that a fix for FT bug can be implemented in Cydia.

Maybe I am guessing no sooner than 3 to 4 months from now.

A lot sooner I suspect

Alright I took the advice and downgraded to 12.1.1 through the iTunes Shift+Update method. Everything looks as it should except my Activity app, which is completely empty.

Is this something that will rectify itself or did I screw something up?

This is exciting.

Would you happen to have any insight on my post here from yesterday? I'm currently back on 12.2 beta with all of my activity data intact but would really like to drop to 12.1.1 in case this jailbreak becomes a reality.

No idea when the ETA for public jailbreak but it is better to be on that firmware if you want to jailbreak. As you heard already, there is an iOS planned by the end of this week. After it drops, iOS 12.1.1 may stop signing soon after. So you will need to be either 12.1.1 or 12.1.2 for the jailbreak. Most jailbreak requires IPSW update or restore to work properly and not OTA update to those firmware.

Futurerestore already works for iOS 12, so you could stay on any 12.1.2 or lower, save blobs and then when JB for 12 comes out use futurerestore + the blobs to jump to the best firmware, even when unsigned if you have the right blobs.

The iOS 12 JB will most probably come out for 12.0-12.1.2, as it appears now.

A lot of people want to stay as low as possible, especially now that Apple appears to have restricted downgrade possibilities in iTunes on the latest version. This will give you a fallback when jailbroken and you mess up or end up in a bootloop somehow to jump from a lower JB-able firmware to a higher JB-able firmware.

I am at 12.1 and would be able to restore to 12.1.1 or 12.1.2 if something goes wrong, 3 changes for a JB.

In any case: SAVE BLOBS!

On iOS 11 blobs were useless on iPhone X. Is this still the case?

I'm currently on 12.1 on an iPhone 7. Will this soon to be jailbreak be compatible with 12.1.1? If so, should I jump to 12.1.1 now as I have no idea how to use Futurestore. I done some research and it looks like a very very complicated method and I don't want to mess up and lose a jail breakable OS.

Given this info I'm thinking of upgrading my iPhone 6 to an XS. I'm hoping that the new iPhone will come with 12.1. But I seem to remember that when I bought a new iPhone for my husband last year, setup required that he install the latest ios. How do you stop a new phone from upgrading to a later ios?

Setup never requires that, it is always a choice. Some apps you have may require an iOS upgrade though

Don't you need to be jailbroken to use future store?

Also, what should I do about my 12.1? Will I be able to update to 12.1.1 for jail break as I know I'll struggle to use future store to update later

No JB required.

I stay on 12.1 myself, but if not really into tech and strugling with FR, I would update.

Done it! Am now on 12.1.1. Sure hope I don't regret this...................... Now come on, and let's be having this jailbreak!
