A1203 Iphone sim question

I just acquired an Iphone in a trade, it has no sim in it and on the screen it even says no sim installed. If I get this sim http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=320329845741 and install it in the phone will I be able to get normal use out of it? all I really want to use it for is as an ipod and for the wifi.

If all you want to do is use it for the iPod and WiFi then I would suggest you jailbreak it using quickpwn.
Then you shouldn't need to put a SIM in to sync with iTunes.

Google Quickpwn and have a look.

You don't need a sim but if you don't want to use it as a phone I would just sell it an get an itouch.

I plan to use it(with att) after my nextel contract is up in 3months
