Hi Guys
I've been reading and reading about my issue, but just trying to narrow it down so i can replace the part.
Have a wife's friend spill coffee on top of the lid, the laptop was closed and she quickly turn it up on its end to stop it from running inside.
So it will power up, get the chime etc but no screen, even attaching an external monitor it wont show anything. I'm thinking the GPU maybe affected?
I've run the PRAM resets and everything i can see to try and get it back, have popped open the lid and checked for coffee residue, but there was noting inside and nothing on the back of the screen which was odd.

Any suggestions would be great, i'm even thinking of trying to find an old MBP the same and swapping parts to get it going again.

Steve

Do you have a multimeter? You can check the voltages around the GPU to see if it is indeed affected. You should also fairly easily be able to see corrosion if it's liquid damaged. At least with a microscope.

If you intend to do board repairs, I suggest going through Louis Rossman's YouTube videos to see how it's done. If you're nice and he's not too busy he might even help you out if you call with any questions
