Hello.

I have a A1286 model macbook pro, part number: MB985LL/A
Unfortunately it did not come with any of the restore software, and I am looking to get restore dvds for it....

I've located discs from another A1286 model.... it is also a 15" MBP, however the part number differs, they're from a MA470LL/A machine.

Would the 470's dvds be compatible with the 985 being as they are both A1286's?

If they use the same hardware, then it might work. However, as suggested above, call Apple. You may be lucky and get them for free and even if you didn't, they are only like 20 bucks

Ahh, okay.
Different processor so probably wont then.

20 bucks is great, I was reluctant to call apple because i thought they were going to be like 100$ or something crazy. The ones on ebay are no cheaper.

Thanks!
