Hello I've bought an Apple A1314 wireless keyboard yesterday (for $8, shipping included) The seller said its enter key was not functioning. I said ok thinking it would not be much of a problem but when I've tried to pair it on Lion or S.Leopard,I couldn't manage to enter the 8-digit passkey prompted by the Bluetooth assistant because, well I have to press the enter key after entering the passkey.
I was wondering if there was a way to pair / connect it to macOS without having to press the enter key. FYI, I've tried pairing it with a Windows XP IBM laptop and I've managed to do it because the Windows XP offered connection without any passkeys. So I guess it's not required by the kb itself but by the macOS.
Here is the kb in question. Those four buttons with caps removed don't function. The kb was bent just a little bit on the right side by its previous owner causing a very slight bump of the aluminum case on the right edge which was not noticable at first look. I've noticed the bump when I put it next to another A1314 I've been using for 10+ years. I guess those four buttons stopped functioning because that little bump must have caused internal fracture on the tiny conductive layers inside the keyboard.
