Mac Pro to meet their arbitrary 2 year deadline. I’d love it to be true. I’m never buying a Mac Pro but I’m very interested in what they are planning.
 
I think we won’t be seeing the M3 until the end of 2023.

By then, the A17 will be out and I believe it will be based on the 3nm process.

So I believe that the M3 will be based on the A17, not the A16.
This is the most accurate answer.
