Black and white is going to be controversial. It is bold in this day and age. Audio and video are equally as important as storytelling, and from just a few post here you can see some will never watch it solely based on it being filmed in black and white. I couldn't imagine directing a movie and immediately losing out on people.

I am not in the camp that rule a movie out for that reason, but I know many people who feel like others here.
Pi, Last and First Men, Schindler's List are all great modern B&W movies - and I say that even as a non film "buff"

You're right, there are interesting things on YouTube but again, using my Apple TV, the commercials ruin any time I try to get back into channels. Same reason I don't like Hulu.

You are missing out on some great internet. Truly missing out.
I look at Apple TV just like I do cable TV. It’s mostly a waste of time.

It’s mostly a waste of time.
Yeah, I agree with you there.

Again, I posted a pic earlier of the screens I spend most my free time watching. I'd rather actively participate in content. Plus I'm in control of the loud sounds in my ears... 🙂

Your loss. It's worth trying it for Ted Lasso, if nothing else. The nature documentaries are also pretty good.

That Ted Lasso stuff doesn’t interest me at all anymore. Maybe 10 years ago. Now I would watch a show like that, and after about 10 minutes ask myself how this is impacting my life lol

She starred Fargo (also film from the Coen Brothers), she was the protagonist and did an amazing job.

I join the other comments about going black and white not being very appealing, there are so many artistic choices to stand out this age and that is an odd one.
They chose B&W for historical authenticity.😮 They didn't have color film 11th century Scotland.😅

A bold choice going B&W. Lighting is critical, since there is no color to distract from imperfect lighting. I watched a lot of B&W films and shows. Combat! starring Rick Jason and Vic Morrow has the best lighting I've seen. It's art photo worthy. When the switched over to color, the look suffered. Most likely because of the technology of the time.

Lost me at black and white.
Good! Can't deal with it, you've got other things to deal with.
My brutha! Incredible actor with such breadth to his acting ability/skills/prowess!

One of the few TOP billed actors in Hollywood today, dare I say ever, that has nothing that keeps from character to character - and even that strut is minimal and not often used per movie.

Looking forward to it.
Likewise!

Nothing can be better than Scotland, PA which is the greatest movie ever made.
Although it's plot isn't Shakespeare-inspired, I'll argue that The Guard might be the greatest movie ever made. It's the blackest of black comedies with an absolute all-world cast - Brendan Gleeson, Don Cheadle, Marc Strong, Liam Cunningham, among others.
