I am pretty sure I'm getting the 4S, but I wanted to know for those of you who have had extensive time with both the iPad and the iPad 2, did you notice any difference in functionality as far as speed?

The performance differences between iPad 1 and 2, as well as to iPhone 4, are subtle if you mostly single task, but dramatic when you are running many background apps at once.

You will still wait for tasks to complete here and there, but just about everything is fluid with little or no chopiness.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-gb) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

The difference between the two are night and day tbh!

As the last comment stated the a4 is underclocked in the ip4 as the a5 will be but it will and is still a huge bump in processing power!!

As far as SPEED, u notice it, but it's no where near mind blowing. The iPad 1 and iPhone 4 are both fast enough. MY OPINION

If you google on

"ipad vs ipad 2"

you will find a myriad of YouTube videos with head-to-head comparisons. You can throw safari or browser into that search line to see the videos showing browser comparisons.

The difference is dramatic.

Going from the A4 to A5 will yield a huge performance difference.

The iPad 2 is much faster than the original iPad.

Yes at first, doing simple tasks the difference doesn't seem all that large. After living with them for a bit, the difference becomes quite pronounced. Everything is smoother and quicker with iPad 2.

I did. But A5 is likely to get underclocked on 4s to preserve battery live.

The A4 on iPhone was already underclocked compared to the A4 on iPad so the difference will remain largely the same if it's underclocked.
