A5 chip, seriously?

Honestly it's more then a year old, they should've used the A6. No retina was a push, but this is just wrong.
Why arent they putting any info on the internals, seriously. What is the megapixels of the camera? 3g or lte? So many questions for me unanswered. I was anticipated for this device.

It was said right on stage: iSight is 5MP on the iPad mini.

There's a little something called "heat dissipation". Using the A6 would have made it automatically thicker. Those of you complaining about the lack of A6 would be complaining at its thickness instead.

Honestly this is utter bulls***, i have the ipad 2 and I was really looking for a speedy, powerful, apple tablet. Probably the only thing I like about it is the black is anodized, AND the size i guess. I might as well get the ipad 4 (or whatever you call it).
And do you guys notice how when they say A5 they quickly say something else, strange.

iPad 2 is plenty fast enough. The A6 would be overkill at that resolution. They need to keep costs down so they can offer it at a competitive price point.

How is this bulls***? You dont have to buy it, no one is forcing you. You can also buy the full size if you want, or you can go ahead and look for another tablet.

I dont know where people get this entitlement complex where apple has to cater to your needs! They made a decision, either because of profit, manufacturing or product hierarchy and they also know they will sell this.

Either you buy it, or you dont.

iPhone 5 has less pixels than iPad mini; the A6 is certainly not "overkill" for iPhone.

iPad mini is basically just an undersized iPad 2... underwhelming, really.
The 4th generation iPad seems more significant.

Well if you already own one...but I'd pick ANY of the iPad models over a fire (and a Kindle DX over any of those for reading).

The "A5" is a dual core A9 + dual SGX 543s. For the lower resolution, it's basically the same as what's in the iPad 3, and...well, we don't really know how it compares to the iPhone 6, because this may be clocked faster.

Better would be better, but I wouldn't expect to see the same hardware in a 7.9" model as in the 9.7" model.
