I'm sure he had no idea a watch series 5 was in the box, so should I be concerned that it sailed 6 feet through the air before it landed at my doorstep or should i just send it back?

You'll probably find it will have experienced as bad in the mail system anyway...

As long as the box in ok, and more importantly the device works as it should without damage I'd not worry. But I would raise it with Amazon Customer Services so it's recorded.

Was the Watch in its original box? Was that box inside a padded shipping bag/box? If so, there's no reason to be worried. Both the manufacturer and the retailer have a vested interest in the thing making a safe journey from factory to your doorstep. The packing materials they select are intended to protect in far worse situations than you've described.

The only difference between what you saw and what happens routinely throughout the watch's journey is that you witnessed it.

The chances of it not working are very small, so why go through all the trouble of returning it unless you know there's something wrong?

Thanks everyone. Wasn't looking to cause a stir and right who knows what happens that I don't see. It seemed a little more casually packaged than normal (like 3 air pillows) so thought I'd ask. Will open shortly. Enjoy the rest of your holidays!

Naturally curious, Do you actually have video documentation that it ‘sailed 6 feet through the air?’ (Or self-witness this) Or are you just assuming the Amazon courier threw the package based on how it was on your porch?

Regardless, if you think about it, the Apple Watch Series 5 is ‘a box within a box’. Meaning, you obviously have the outer packaging box from Amazon, then the Apple Watch box itself, which is a very durable cardboard that is tightly packaged. I doubt any damaged occurred.
