AAP 3 Silicon Tip material quality

I visited an Apple Store today because my APP 3 silicon tip split & developed a hole just just 8 months from purchase.

This also happened to my APP 1 tips but after a much longer period (at least double).

Upon closer inspection, I noticed the APP 3 tips have a wrinkled (compromised?) texture on their underside, whereas the APP 1 tips are much smoother.

Seems as if the APP 3 are more susceptible to tearing?

App3 have foam infused tips. That is why you see the difference

That would make sense then, as foam tips need to be replaced more frequently than silicone.

Interesting to see if others experience any tearing of their APP3 tips over time.
