Never gonna happen. It needs more cowbells (PCIe slots). The Vision Pro does look like the future now. I can’t imagine it NOT replacing enterprise workstations. From the presentation it looks like Apple is thinking the same thing.

You bitter you're not an investor?it must because of this new, hideous abomination they revealed which no one is gonna buy
How many shares did you buy at that basis? My initial lot of AAPL (which I still have as the color Apple Computer certificate) has a split adjusted cost basis of $0.1766 per share. Later lots average in the $24 per share range.
Since my first purchase September 9, 1996, there have been endless predictions that AAPL would fail. My portfolio says otherwise!
I sure am.You bitter you're not an investor?
In 1999 I had $5000 to invest and was debating apple or a local start up. I choose the start up. It went out of business 3 years later. The apple stock would have done…better. The internet says that would he 1.3 million now.Makes you wish you bought $AAPL on 20-Jan-2009 for $78.20.
That Pre-Split Share Price today would be $5,146.12 (@ $183.79 ATH) per 20-Jan-2009 share with a quarterly div of $6.44.
So say you bought 4,000 shares in 20-Jan-2009 for $312,800.00.
That specific portfolio would be worth $20,584,480 by now.
Quarterly dividend would be $25,760.00.
Not a bad div for a single person without dependents living in a poor nation where min wage is $1.00/hr.
On my spreadsheet I have the 2-Jan-1998 price of $13.50/share.In 1999 I had $5000 to invest and was debating apple or a local start up. I choose the start up. It went out of business 3 years later. The apple stock would have done…better.
Interesting. My guess is internet doesn’t do the splits? Thanks for making me feel so so so much worse for my stupid investing decisions😂On my spreadsheet I have the 2-Jan-1998 price of $13.50/share.

So say you bought 371 shares in 2-Jan-1998 for $5,007.02.
That specific portfolio would be worth $7,636,842.08 by now.
Quarterly dividend would be $9,556.96.
Anytime! 😅Interesting. My guess is internet doesn’t do the splits? Thanks for making me feel so so so much worse for my stupid investing decisions😂
I’m sure Zuck is not thrilled lol.
Few enough that I have mentally kicked myself thousands of times for not buying ten times more. Or 100 times more. But then, I probably wouldn't have kept them for nearly 40 years, either. How many shares did you buy at that basis?

I did sell a small portion of the $0.17/share stocks to purchase a new Land Cruiser when they stopped selling them in the US. Nothing like buying a new vehicle for what amounts to $150 out of pocket. 😊 And the shares I bought at ~$24/share would buy a nice house most places in the US.
But I didn't buy millions of dollars worth...
16 years and counting...... thanks to the incredible and continued success of the iPhone.

“Replace”? Hmm, not so sure about that. The Vision Pro does look like the future now. I can’t imagine it NOT replacing enterprise workstations. From the presentation it looks like Apple is thinking the same thing.
....and then health insurance premiums rise for the company because of the health issues that arise as a result of wearing a headset for 8 hours a day for 5 days a week.“Replace”? Hmm, not so sure about that.
But I did just have a thought: the Vision Pro promo videos showed a worker “connecting” to their MacBook on their desk… but, it should also work well with a computer that does *not* have a monitor, right? I.e. you could have a desk *clean* of *any* screens and just tuck a Mac mini in a corner somewhere? Then just keep a keyboard on top, or even in a keyboard drawer, for when you have serious typing to do… (a trackpad would be redundant, assuming the eye-tracking really does work as well as in the promo vids, and as reported by some folks who got early previews).
I’m intrigued… imagine a workplace *not* cluttered with large screens, gobbling up so much electricity (but instead, having everyone walking around with goggles on their faces 😆)
Easily covered by their savings in electricity, display hardware, and maintenance! 😆....and then health insurance premiums rise for the company because of the health issues that arise as a result of wearing a headset for 8 hours....

Give it another 10 years. Then discuss your opinion.🫶it must because of this new, hideous abomination they revealed which no one is gonna buy
