This is not a thread for white knights. Let's please keep this open to people who are genuinely frustrated. Either because of the delays, or now the news of the taptic engine issues.

It's so easy to make that argument, but when many of us who ordered on the 10th are looking at a nebulous-blob-of-a-2-month-wait for our orders, it becomes far less about orders that have been delayed beyond their original window, and far more about the absolutely abysmal communication from Apple about when users can reasonably expect their orders to arrive.
And beyond that, I'd argue that in 2015, any tech product pre-order that ends with a huge percentage of users having a nearly 2 month wait is a massive failure no matter which way you slice it. There are plenty of ways Apple could have prepared before this - off the top of my head:
Provide users with their # in the queue, and what range of order #s are moving
Limit preordering on the 10th - prevent new orders until more product was ready
Communicate delays on a per-model basis
etc...
This launch has been a disaster, and I honestly cannot understand this mentality of trying to excuse Apple for failing to be even just a bit better prepared.
