ABC Rolls Out iPad App for Interacting With 'My Generation' TV Episodes

Yeah....

Or even just a better show. I'm sick and tired of everything being either "reality TV" or a semblance of it, with fictional characters we're supposed to follow through their imagined daily lives!

I wouldn't waste the time or energy on this program ... although the technology they put into the app itself is pretty innovative.

This would've been great if it was following a better and established show..

I think it's going to catch on, but I might wait for a more tempting show.

They sure could have used this for Lost!

I watched a lot of LOST with a MacBook on my lap.
Anyway, I didn't realize iPad had a microphone. Why?

And those claiming this a gimmicky idea for a gimmicky show need to step back and consider the bigger picture. TONS of potential. Someone already mentioned sports... Take a stat-heavy sport like baseball. Can u imagine what could be done there? Or take fan loyalty + social networking = HUGE hit.

It would seem that content creators will need to staff up to handle buildling all if this new social/interactive content to their now current static content.
Goodness, this could get really interesting over the next decade.

Honestly, it's the kind of injection that just might save TV - or at least bring it into the 21st century. And if the cable providers of the world have any foresight, they'll jump all over this. But that's where they're screwed: they don't have that foresight and/or are too far behind what's already been happening online. Again, should be interesting.

The app will last as long as the show. 8 episodes, perhaps?

I'd love it if it took off, I have a feeling it won't. It others have said, it sounds gimicky.
