ABC is offering free streaming broadcasts of a handful of their shows starting today, May 1st until June 30th. Currently ABC is offering what appear to be the latest episodes of LOST, ALIAS, Desperate Housewives, and Commander In Chief. The video stream uses Flash 8. I tried it out this morning, and in my opinion, there's officially no reason for other networks not to follow suit. ABC has been on the cutting edge lately, as theirs were the first television shows offered for download in iTunes. Though this is a trial of sorts, I certainly hope it catches on full time, and across different netwworks. The shows do contain commercials, though ABC purports the advertisements to be "limited." It remains to be seen how this might effect TV Show sales in the iTMS, but for my experience, I don't mind the few ads for the quality and price. Apparently this trial service is available to the US only.
