What's a TA?

Teacher's Assistant, Professor's Assistant, whatever. Basically, some professors have so many students and so many classes they get students that have REALLY good grades and took the class a previous semester that could come in and teach them. Generally, the professor makes the schedule. If you've ever seen the movie Road Trip, his character would be a prime example of one.

That being said, I don't know how many people are in Phungy's class, so he may or may not have one.

What's a TA?

Teachers Assistant < generally the minimum wage slave that marks all the first and second year eXams and papers while the instructor does something productive like write books, journals articles and go to conferences...

Once you read 150 papers on one topic you are ready kill something...
here is a hint do something different, don't give the Coles Notes answers, think... be creative but on track.

TA aka total a**hole...:p

Hmmm, thinking about the Clockwork Orange think made me think, I've seen a few documentries around about the making of a suicide bomber. Could be fertile ground.

benthewraith and dsnort, are you both currently enrolled at UF or alumni?

I attended UF for 5 semesters before some unkind soul told me that they don't actually offer a degree in drunken debauchery. My degree is from a small but good college, but my heart, ( sportwise ), is all Gators.

Rope directed by Alfred Hitchcock a ture story of teenage thrill killers (The Loepold & Loeb case)

The Murderous Maids French film truly abnormal psychology
Apt Pupil by Bryan Singer
Heavenly Creatures by Peter Jackson
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Duel by Stephen Spielberg
The Handmaid's Tale
Just about any Terry Gilliam Film especially the Fisher King
Single White Female
Little Miss Sunshine
Capote or In Cold Blood
These are not obvious choices so you might get credit for not following the norm. Good luck:)

There was another Alfred Hitchcock movie centering around a person that thought they were someone else and was looking for themself. I remember it took place on a train, but that's all I remember.

Another case of the movie falling far short of the story/book. ( Any one other than me disgusted with what Hollywood did with Heileins "Starship Troopers?).

It was meant to be an insult. The director hated the book and the concept, and that was why he modeled the Federation after the Nazis, what with the uniforms and all.

I understand that, but they made Heinleins genius looks stupid. I remember the insistence on precision by the military instructors in the book, and then seeing the "gaggle" of troops meandering along in the movie. Sickening.

Hey I am one too , hence the minimum wage, with 150 identical papers comment...

I get less than minimal wage, but the class is about 16 people. I love it though! And it looks good on my resumè. AND I met my current girlfriend there. (We started dating a month after she recieved her final grades, in case you were wondering  )

EDIT: BTW, for what subject are you a TA?

Criminology: Skeletal Pathology and Forensic Anth

At my Uni grad students are required to TA or teach in order to get their degree. The nice thing about TAing is that since I am employed by the Uni I get a tuition waiver and don't have to pay my tuition fees...
And the class has to be 35 people min in order for there to be a TA, up 65students per TA per class, I double up two classes in one term and take next off.

Well I decided on Donnie Darko because A Beautiful Mind was taken. Third choice was Memento. I chose these three because I have them on DVD :p and didn't want to go out and rent it.

My class does have 1 TA but it is a small-size class with no more than 40 students.
