If I upgrade to leopard with archive and install and I checked off "Preserve Users and Network Settings" would microsoft office programs still be there? I'm asking because Apple said "leaves non-Apple-installed (third-party) items intact, though they may be moved, depending on their location." and I need to make sure since I got the office programs with my laptop.

Thank You

Yes, they should be left completely intact.

I've on occasion had trouble with migrated applications, but Office wasn't in that category, and at absolute worst the files would be moved to the "Previous Systems" folder, from where you could just move them back where they belong manually.
