Sorry, there are no live streams on Netflix. Depending on the country you're in, the content is completely different. The US has access to a large selection of movies and TV shows, but here in Canada, we have a much smaller selection of not very recent movies.
Go to https://signup.netflix.com/BrowseSelection to see what is available in your country on Netflix.

netflix is an all or nothing thing, you subscribe, you get access to everything.

typically TV shows are a season behind. at the earliest, they will be up when the season ends. But every show is done depending on the agreement with the copyright holder, so it varies.

Since you're in the UK, i really don't know what netflix will get you. you'll have to look for yourself

Actually I need freebies, I can pay a fixed amount to netflix which is about 8us dollars but i do not want to a single dollar more for the content i will get. I am not mentioning movies as i get them from local stores but tv shows, series, episodes and similar staff all free ?

i have got 3mbit cable connection and I can stream 720p without any pause for 1080p i have to go to kitchen and make coffee for myself to spend some time when it buffers.

If netlfix is alright with my scenario, I will also need to sign up for vpn which doubles the cost. But not sure about the speed i will get with a vpn server since my connection speed is already poor.

Well for a start the 'new releases' section will get you straight to dvd movies from around 6 years ago!

    Yet I still keep paying...

    ----------

Until Netflix pick up their game you're perfectly fine to use 'questionable' streaming sites, although if you're looking for a good subscription service, I have been hearing good things about Amazon Prime, not bothered checking it out (or seeing if it's even active) yet though!

If you're streaming Netflix through your computer there are DNS/Proxy workarounds to let you get US content although they've been cracking down on all the free ones of late so you have to get a subscription based one! (unless you fish out one of the scandalous options)

They give you a free 1 month trial, so just signup, try it out for a month then if you don't like it cancel.

I tried it for the free month in the the UK and was very disappointed, their idea of new content is TV shows and movies from 5 years ago, and not many at that. The content, at least in the UK, is seriously lacking.

It really is, to be honest, the only thing tempting me back to it is the Arrested Development series they're getting next year, but I don't really understand why I'm paying it in the meantime, you know what.. I'm off to unsubscribe!

Oh my YES. If you like one-star movies Netflix is for YOU. There are thousands to choose from, like 2012: Ice Age, 2012: Zombie Apocalypse or Apocalypse 2012: The World After Time Ends.

I am more a arthouse movie watcher than vivid hollywood movies, thus I would love to watch independent movies, some from europe and asia.

It seems netflix is for mass market, not for niche consumers.

@OP if you want the US netflix set up a UK account and use Unblock Us to set your router/xbox settings and netflix will think your in the US and you get a much better deal for your money.

Think unblock Us has a week or 2 week trial, then it costs 5USD a month.
So itll cost you slightly more a month, you can decide if you think its worth spending the extra money on.

I am a big fan of Netflix streaming. You have to keep an eye on the New Release section though. They put big names in for about a months period of time and exchange them. For example Iron Man 2 was in it just before the Avengers movie released now I checked today and Iron Man 2 cannot be found but Thor is available.

I noticed the same thing a while back. Tangled and The Princess and the Frog were there and then a few months later I went back to try to watch and they were gone.

What it is best for is TV Seasons. If you ask me more shows should do it. We watched all seasons (except most recent) of Mad Men & Breaking Bad. We then purchased the most recent season of each from iTunes (SD versions of $22 USD) and now we are all caught up for the newest season.
