About screenshots

Is there any way to change the preferences for taking screenshots? I would like it, if the dafault file type was .jpg instead of .png.
It's not a big thing, but I can't imagine that it can't be done.

there should be an easier way to do it. Shouldn't have to use terminal, maybe in 10.6 hahah
