Google Pixel XL 2 - $949 for 128GB. Yeah it’s cheaper than iPhone X but not by a lot.

Assuming it will have a 18:9 screen, the Pixel 2 (not XL) will be more comparable, and base for base memory, 64GB, will be $649 vs $999 for the X.

I'll say it again. It runs Android though. If this phone was $400 or less it would be acceptable.
I bought a Pixel last year and it doesn't function like a $700 phone.
My opinion of course.

The Pixel 2 (not XL) is rumored to have a 4.97" display and retain the large bezels. Not even close to the iPhone X.

But the 64 GB Pixel 2 XL is $849 compared to the $999 iPhone X. You make it seem closer by not comparing the same storage models. That would be as bad as comparing a 64 GB Pixel 2 XL to the 256 GB iPhone X at $1150.

For me its not really the costs involved. I look at it these are devices that run 24/7/365 for me. And they do so rather remarkably well. I am on my phone more then any other PC. I will pay a premium for a device that warrants it. Regardless if its Android or iPhone or whatever. If the Pixel 2 is an amazing phone then it could be worth $950 IMHO. But the last gen Pixel had some under-whelming features I did not think justified its price point. Maybe this years will improve those?

I said the iPhone X is more expensive but everyone seems to be treating it as wildly more expensive than the competition which isn’t the case.

All you have to do is point out the price of the Note 8.

That phone is hideous. Looks like someone took the bottom of one phone and the top of another and photoshopped them together.

No dual camera on the Pixel 2 XL, either. I'm sure that accounts for some of the price difference.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. ☹️
Perhaps our expectations of what a flagship phone should cost are wrong?

I get what you’re saying. Nobody should be surprised about a phone (especially an iPhone) costing over $1,000.00. My jet black unlocked iPhone 7 128GB that I bought from Best Buy with a smart battery case cost me around $1,100.00 after taxes a little less than a year ago. I paid full price because I usually keep my apple gear 3 to 5 years….my airport extreme is going on 10 years. So, I look at it as I spent about as much or less as a person who gets a phone upgrade every year on contract for the next 4 or 5 years.

It will only really be available in the US so me, europe and the rest of the world couldnt give a ××××
