About the iPad

I am thinking of buying a Ipad but not sure what size to go for. I am interested in using the Ipad for:

Watching films
Playing games
Reading comics and manga
Social media such as Facebook
Skype

What size would be good for me? Should I go for the Mini or the normal version? I hear soon the Pro version will be coming out.

I am waiting for October since I heard the new Ipad will be released around that time.

Definitely the full-sized model. The Mini will be undersized for video, games, and comics and is really best only if you want something that travels everywhere with you much like an over-sized phone.

If you can wait Apple will be updating their iPads soon, probably in October and there could be an iPad Pro added to the line up which is rumoured to be a 12.9" iPad.

Although I'm a mini user, for your interests I think the full size would be best. Go hold them both and then make your decision. But yeah, the Pro may be coming.

Have you held both in your hot little hands? Might I suggest walking into an Apple store and playing around with both? You might prefer one over the other...

The upcoming pro seems like it would be too much for me, might as well get the Macbook. I've always loved the mini for less 'serious' tasks. Again not sure if the mini would be large enough for more intense gaming, but to me movies and casual social media is perfect on the mini.

But to the topic at hand- I, too, would suggest you making a trip into an Apple Store to play around with the different models. From what you've outlined for main uses, my recommendation would be the full-sized model in the iPad Air 2. But I am sure you will see people here that love using the iPad Mini for many of the same uses you listed. So you may end up with jumbled results here, and in the end I do think your best answer will come from physically sampling them all in-store.
