"About This Mac" storage questions

I checked out my "About This Mac" page, and in the storage section there was 29.4 gigabytes of "other" storage on my Macintosh HD. "Other" storage was also the largest part of my taken storage. What is in the "other" storage? The system files? iOS apps (I have 14.93 gigabytes of them)?

I'm just asking, because I don't want junk on my mac. 😛

All sorts of stuff, like Library files, app contents, iOS apps, etc...

is there a way to kind of clear away some of it? Cuz I'm trying to get as much space as i can.
