My About This Mac window lacks the "late-2008 MacBook" underneath "MacBook".

Why isn't it showing up on mine?

I have the same problem. I have looked at the systemprofiler plist and there is a string there that says, in my case, 13 inch mid 2009. I don't know why its not showing up in 'About this mac'.

The storage-tab on About my mac says I have over 18 EB of movies.
1 Exabyte = 1 billion gigabytes

Adder, under "language and text" and the tab "format", are you using a custom setup? I am. When I chang to a preset the missing text in "About this Mac" shows up for me.

Edit: I just filed a bug report to Apple about the issue.

Yeah, I am using a custom setup. There isn't a preset for my country. It's a mix-match of Australia with the currency set to Malaysia.

EDIT: I changed to a preset... it displayed the model year... odd.
