Any chance that it will see an upgrade this weekend at the Apple conference?
No, it was just updated in March.
It's been updated to Broadwell already (unlike the 15" MBPrs). It's about as up-to-date as it's going to get at this point, most likely until Skylake which is a good long ways down the road.
As they said, not a chance. Unless you want to wait until Skylake, probably 6-9 months or more away, buy fearlessly.
I was really hoping they would release space grey and gold option for the current generation of MBPs. Doubt it but I can only hope they do
Is 8GB RAM enough for the next 5 years?
Many say yes but most will say that if you can afford to upgrade to the 16 do it.
Depends on your use case, for most people 8GB (in OS X with ram compression etc) will be plenty for the foreseeable future.
But this thread will give you a good idea what you need and how long it'll do you for.
Enough for what?
