Both screens are exactly the same except for their external coating. The glossy has a coating which causes it to be glossy. Nothing else is different. They will last the same amount of time, produce roughly the same brightness, etc.

Bear in mind that screen brightness on portable LCD screens grow dim rather quickly

I know that. But it doesn't change the essence that matte screens reflect light differently from glossies. That was the core point I was addressing, as it'll make the most difference in the OP's choice between screens.
