Well, now I'm installing apps, keeping all the system apps in the Macintosh HD apps folder, and all personal apps in account1/applications, but how can I change the default install folder for applications from "Macintosh HD/Applications" to "Account1/Applications"?

UPDATE: Almost done installing apps. Still trying to figure out how to change the default installation folder for applications. Any help?

I'm trying to remember how i did that. i do remember i used to just specify the appropriate directory when asked where to install the apps each time (like you're doing now), until a friend told me how to fix it.

i'll try to remember to ask him how it was done when i see him later this week.

i think he just called an apple genius for the solution to our common problem and it was a simple setting.

my apologies for taking you down a road without having all the answers in advance.
