Adding AC+ after the fact is the same as with an iPhone. You either take the AW to an Apple Store or chat/call the AppleCare people. If the latter, they email you a link to run a test program on your device to verify working order, etc. I'd do it over the phone; did it that way once when I didn't add AC+ on a new iPhone at preorder and it took about ten minutes for the whole conversation.

thats what they told me on the phone

i don't understand why i cant add it now before friday , they know i don't have the watch yet , so there's no damage

So in other words, you'd have to commit fraud because some shady Genius suggests it rather than follow your conscience. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the definition of a true sheep.

Nothing shady about a Genius letting you screw yourself. They don't suggest it but they won't get into a pissing match over you wanting to use your AC+ over a few scratches. Customer is already right is the saying, isn't it

And they'll be more than happy to pass the cost to you in the form of higher AC+ deducibles and OOW replacement prices. Keep up the good work.

I always get apple care+ on anything I buy from Apple. It has been great. My PowerBook pro screen cracked, took it in and at first a genius said it wouldn't be covered as he thought I had dropped something on the screen. My sister who was with me told him how careful and meticulous I am about my devices. The manager came over and listened and said Apple Care+ would cover it. Otherwise, it would have cost me quite a bit and would have been easier to buy a new computer.

The accidental damage aspect is greatly overstated. It's tethered to your wrist so you're far less likely to drop it compared to the iPhone and water damage would be covered under the standard warranty as it's rated IPX7 for water resistance (unlike the iPhone).

You can easily double the standard warranty using an Amex card or equivalent.

I don't know.. I've smashed my wrist into door jams plenty of times, replaced the crystal on my current watch twice. Outside of drops, your watch is more exposed than a smartphone.
