About white macbook 2010

Hello everyone. I love apple products, but i still have not a macbook, i decided to get one, but there is one thing i don't like the prize is big, so i want a qualitty too. But i read all of big issues about battery ,scratches, and stuff like this. And now i am wondering if need this macbook....
What you can suggest?

For each day use, for school ( take notes, office time baterry is important) for home use, but i dont use it for big photo editing or music...

any Mac Laptop with a newish battery from the last few years (ie MacBook - got to have a Intel Processor) should handle that just fine - and if you ever want to do photos or video it would work too (You can even edit HD on the earliest MacBook, its just rather slow)
