CleanMyMac from MacPaw is a MUST. Think of it as CCleaner for Windows, but on steroids, and on OS X. Run CleanMyMac once a week, and you'll save a massive amount of hard drive space, and your Mac will be significantly faster.

NOTE: CleanMyMac is a PAID application.

This and other posts I find absurd.

CleanMyMac is a MUST AVOID application. We've seen dozens of threads on this forum posting problems caused by CleanMyMac, and there are almost certainly many more people who didn't post here or didn't know that CleanMyMac caused their problems. If you're smart enough to figure out the way CleanMyMac can be safely used, you shouldn't need it in the first place. I'd highly recommend avoiding it like the plague.

Have you ever tried it? Download a trial copy and see exactly what it does. You don't have to remove any files it lists - just look at them. No, I don't work for MacPaw either. :)

Why would I take a chance? I have no space problems on any of my Macs - I've known *NIX since the days of Multics and I keep things under control on my own.

I've just had my Macbook Pro 15-inch delivered this morning and I'm about to open it up from the packaging. I freeking can't wait to get this up and running :D

Could you guys kindly recommend any must-have software/apps for the system as I'm totally new to OSX.

Oh and can anyone recommend any tutorials for OSX as well.

Thanx in advance

I am just done with unboxing my new early 2011 15 inch macbook pro, and I am not new to macs. My old 13 inch unibody macbook is still running solid but I sold it to a buyer. Couple of months ago i was deciding whether to buy 13 inch macbook pro or 15 inch. The 13 inch intergrated graphic card was the reason i rejected to buy.
