Absurd iPhone X Price in Canada

Canadians are getting screwed over with exchange rates and pricing in Canada

Iphone X 64 gb in US = $999

Iphone X 64 gb in Canada = $1319
Iphone X 256 gb in Canada = $1529


Canadian Dollar = $1.22 US... Much cheaper to buy Iphone in the states and ship to Canada.

The X base model is £999 which works out at $1600 CAD. The 256gb works out at £1149 ($1860 CAD).

Exactly, $1500 for a phone.... I remember when that would buy you a solid Macbook.... and the 64gb Iphone X is laughable. That would fill up so fast with the new cameras...

Try Australia. It's $1,569 here. Exchange rate should put it closer to $1,200.

No sale. The only reason they price these things so high is because people pay as much.

Obviously if you can get to the US to buy an Apple product, you'll always come out ahead. Canadians don't get as screwed as other countries but yes still getting screwed.

This is nothing new. When selling a product across borders, there are other considerations that have to go into the price than just a straight exchange rate. It's always been like this.

So as of right now, Wednesday November 1 @ 12:43pm central, a US dollar after conversion and greedy bank fees is 1.32 Canadian. That 999 US dollar iPhone X will cost you exactly 1,318.68 Canadian dollars. Pretty much dead even. If our dollar falls any further, we'll be getting a sweet deal!!
