AC+ Not eligible?

I just bought a 16 inch MBP at Best Buy. This might be a silly question, but do I need to set it up before purchasing Apple Care Plus? I tried checking eligibility for AC+ and Apple‘s website is giving me a message that the item is not eligible for additional coverage.

Have you tried to buy Apple Care Plus from Best Buy? BB are an authorized Apple reseller and repair. They also sell AC+.

Haven't tried yet, but wondering why I can't just buy from Apple?

Same here, it says "were sorry, choose another device ..." Prior to that it stated same message as OP.

Just out of interest, what warranty end date is it giving you for the 12 month standard care? I bought my MBP recently and I checked my warranty status on day one and it was short changing me by 7 days

This happened to me also. Easy fix: I called apple and they easily straightened everything out. Chat or schedule a call here.
