Okay, so my first Mac (iMac) purchase is drawing oh so near!

What does everyone use (if anything) to protect your investment from power problems such as (surges, brown-outs, black-outs, etc...)?

Just wondering. Not sure yet if I will go with a simple surge protector or a UPS.

Thanks

I always use a UPS. Primarily for keeping my system safe from any surge. I just don't trust a surge protector. Also, you get the benefit of your system not coming down for any brief power outages. (I keep mine on 24x7).

Considering how reasonably you can find a decent UPS today, I so no reason to use anything else.

I recommend an APC-brand UPS. Even the cheaper models would be better than nothing, but as far as I'm concerned the longer the battery time the better.
