AC+ refund - is now a good time to start the process?

I’m planning on selling my 8 and probably going to ship it out sometime early next week - my iPhone X is supposed to be delivered Dec 7-14th, so I’m going to get a refund for the AC+ that I purchased for my 8.. my question is, how long does the process take, and should I start it now just in case my phone arrives sooner than quoted?

Used a credit card to purchase it, does it normally go back on there or do they have other options?

If you call Apple, they will give you the option of refunding to card used, or giving you a gift card for the amount.

I got mine refunded to my bank account but originally used a credit card for my 7. It took about 4 business days when she told me it can take up to 10.
