iPod touch accelerometer issues.

Just wondering if the accelerometer can go upside down when you tilt it, but I don't think so.

Just saw a thread that said his iphone could tilt upside down.

so tell me if your ipod touch/iphone can go upside down when you tilt it?

This incorrect. The hardware is capable of recognizing upside down, as in the end with the sleep wake button pointing down, but some software ignore this, such as safari. If you mean face down, then I think the iPhone is technically not able to tell this from face up, but well programmed software could make up for it. For example by what orientation the iPhone was in prior and the direction it was moving.

Agreed. If the hardware recognized only up, right and left, then a lot of games, like Labrynth, Monkey Ball, etc, wouldn't work.

so when ur sleep button side is down, the screen is showing the upside down interface, right?
