iPod touch Accelerometer not working period

Hello all

I'm having trouble with my ipod touch second generation.

About two months ago, the accelerometer stopped working. I looked it up briefly and could not find a fix.

Now it's really starting to bug me, so i sent it in to apple for a fix. However, they would not fix it because it got a little cracked on the screen when it was shipping to apple.

Now i'm searching far and wide for a fix, but cannot find one.

I was wondering if anybody could help me?

uhh. well if it still works, i would try to call apple support and explain what happened. if worst comes to worst, i would wait and get a 3rd gen ipod this fall.

I tried once but they said "we won't fix it because it was caused by external damage to the screen" and when I told them it wasn't working before I sent it in and the screen got damaged they said too bad.
