Trying to get a High Sierra clean install going and I'm at my wits end.

    5,1 with a MVC-flashed Titan X.

Created a bootable USB installer (10.13.4)
Went into single user mode to apply nv_disable=1
    Booted from installer USB
    Formatted SSD as APFS
    Installed High Sierra
    Installed the latest Security Update
    Made sure SIP was enabled
    Installed nVidia web driver

Upon next boot, I got the circle with a cross through it. OK...

Reinstalled High Sierra, Security Update, Nvidia web driver all over again. Rebooted
This time it got further but the  progress bar was taking forever (waited for 30 minutes before giving up)

Tried adding nv_drv=1 boot arg. Made no difference, eternal load time.

What SSD? SATA SSD? PCIe SSD? How it connected?

And if I were you, I will avoid APFS.

For flashed card, should be no need to care about the boot argument. Should able to use EFI boot to desktop, and manually select Nvidia web driver from the menu bar icon.

Accelsior E2 (PCIe SSD). OWC claimed it wasn't among those that had issues with High Sierra. "Claimed" ;)

Did you perform the firmware upgrade yet?

Did, on both the Mac Pro and one for the Accelsior.

I might give HFS+ a try tomorrow and see if it makes any difference.

^^^^First off, your issue is posted in the incorrect thread. Your issue has nothing to do with your flashed Nvidia card. You should have started a new thread. This is just mucking up this thread. But, IMHO, your issue is related to the OWC card. Replace it with a known SSD, and you should be good to go.

Yup, you are correct sir. Just tested it with HFS+ and the same exact issue happened. Used Carbon Copy Cloner to restore my Sierra install and it booted perfectly.

I sent a message to OWC support. I could swear I've seen people say they got theirs working on High Sierra.
