Access a Time Capsule with an iPad?

To play movies remotely from my time capsule I use Plex

Check out iTunes Match and see if this will do what you want. My music library is available using this method on my ipad

as far as i know, you'll need to set up a dns account as a go between if you wish to access your t/c or airport disk from outside your network. once you do this, then certainly filebrowser (and others) will work very well for accessing your files and also beaming to atv via airplay. you can get a free dns account at dyndns.org, and if you decide to use filebrowser there are instructions available on the developer's site (stratospherix.com) that'll walk you through setting it up. i set mine up about two years ago and have accessed my files and media from coast to coast. good luck!
