Hi, i've got another computer i'd like to access to. But when i'm not at home and it's local network. I know it's ip-address, name and login-pw.

Do i still need a remote-app to access it? Shouldn't it be possible to access it by typing the ip-address and then password into finder/"connect to server"?

Any idea?

If you are trying to access a computer on another network from outside of that network, then this is what you need...

The Router that connects that network to the Internet, must have port forwarding (with specific ports) to that comptuer.
You must have the IP address of the router, from outside of the network.
Then all you have to enter from outside is the Router's IP address, and the port that is forwarded, and it will redirect you to the computer in question.
