Hi - coming from an IPAQ and Sony PSP -

I can currently store html pages/files - of my own creation - on both the above devices - and access them through the web browsers of those devices.

I'm not interested on external internet browsing.

The nintendo DSi does not permit this - its web browser has been refused access to its SD cards.

Can the itouch permit its web browser to view html files from its own drive?

If not - I am best to stick with the PSP - whose browser can access and permit view from its memory stick - - even though the browser is a real headache...

from the silence i assume this thing can't do this - wow, that's utterly amazing considering the price of these bricks.

I guess the touchs have replaced teenager's makeup compacts. what a genius mr jobs is.

We don't have direct access to read/write to the the iPod Touch unless it's jailbroken.

The iPod Touch is far from a 'brick'. Kind of ignorant of you to say so.

i believe this is possible with a jailbroken touch... not 100% sure though. Just do soem searching... seems like there is a program (apache or something like that?)
