Access Windows admin share from mac

I've tried

smb://192.168.x.x/hiddenshare$

with no luck. Firewall looks ok but I can't connect.

How are you authenticating? If in a domain, you'll need domain\username with the password to go with it. In a workgroup it's computername\username with the password to the local account on the PC.
