Hi everyone.

I have a problem with my network:

I have a cable modem. My ISP now requires me to setup a VPN connection in order to access the internet.

The problem is that my modem is attached to my Time Capsule. The iMac is connected to the time capsule using WiFi. I can define the VPN settings on my iMac and access the internet and it works great, but what about other devices on the network, do I have to do this on all other devices connected to the network?

One my the devices is a Playstation 3 connected using Ethernet to the Time capsule. I cannot define VPN access on the Playstation 3.

Is there ANY way to define VPN access on the Time Capsule itself? It has a PPPoE feature, but no PPTP/L2TP feature.

An other, less preferred solution, would be to have the Time Capsule share the internet connection which is used by the iMac. But how can I set this up? iMac is accessing the ISP internet through the Time Capsule, and the Time Capsule needs to share the internet access of the iMac with other devices.

This is too complicated for my tiny brain.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Setting up the iMac to share internet access with the Time Capsule is easy. Simply plug it into the iMac, and go to System Preferences > Sharing, and tick the Internet Sharing box. That's it!

I have no idea re: VPN on the Time Capsule. That's strange that your cable company requires you to connect via VPN.

Hi ravenvii,

Yes, internet companies are weird here in Israel...

The problem is that the iMac is not connected directly to the Time Capsule, it is actually connected to it via WiFi.

So I have this weird setup where the iMac needs the WAN connection of the Time Capsule, but the Time Capsule needs the internet connection of the iMac.

How can I set this up?
