As I patiently wait for my new :apple:iMac 5K to arrive (my first iMac by the way), I’m looking to purchase some items for my new office setup to enhance my overall experience with the iMac.
What type of furniture, gadgets or accessories do you have or plan on buying to add to your iMac setup?
Desks, Chairs, Printers, Storage Devices, USB hubs, Bluetooth Speakers, Desk Pads, Mouse Pads, etc.

Please share, thank you.

I was thinking of picking up some AudioEngine A2+ speakers for mine. Up to now, I have just used the iMac speakers, but I get the impression the sound would be much improved with a decent set of external speakers. Of course, more cable management for which I have yet to find a decent solution (will not attach anything to the desk but that's another issue). In fact, I went to buy them at a store near my place as they were 50 bucks off, but was informed when I got there that the sale ended the day before. I was so miffed I didn't buy them. Might wait for the next sale. :p

I have been considering this but I am trying to stay away from it at the moment until I have everything else sorted.

I did find myself hunting farthings earlier, it is quite hard not to.

Anything I buy I'd like to keep the cables to a minimum, that was a major contributing factor ongoing with the iMac and 5k was a bonus for the future but an addition now.

Jimi from blueLounge. Neat addition for your iMac. http://www.bluelounge.com/products/jimi/
I personally don't use more that one USB stick at the time and I'm not in a hurry when I plug my USB HDD to need to have a whole 4/6/7/whatever USB ports sitting on my desk.

I use external speakers via airPLay and here's a small app I use to control iTunes Volume for airPLay https://github.com/alberti42/iTunes-Volume-Control

Oh .. and RAM. Just max your iMac. You will do it anyway at some point so why not to be spoiled from the beginning.

Nice speakers with some great reviews. You may be able to pick another set during Black Friday. Cable management is a big concern here as well.

Same here, I really don't want to see any extra cables on the desk.

The Jimi is a nice idea. Thanks! I just wish they had the same color as the imac instead of the black.

Agree %100, I'm also taking the iMac's memory to the max. There is no point not to.
Thanks for the app link. I'm sure it will come in handy.

I also got my first imac a few weeks ago. I bought the alupad mousepad for the magic mouse and got the Harmon Kardon Aura white edition speakers too. They both look incredibly stylish and perfectly match my imac. The Aura speakers are blue tooth and there's only one single cable to worry about which is the power cord. They sound awesome too.
