Hey! I’m a listener of the podcast and was wondering what MAC do they recommend? I know they recommend one but can’t remember.

I have a MacBook Air with my job but in July will be let go so need a personal one.
Mainly normal browsing and work - I’m a teacher and then some basic graphic work and laser cutter software so manipulate files etc.
Don’t have the biggest budget but like to spend on something that will last.
Is the MacBook Air M4 best options? Any extras I should consider?
Wanting to buy in a couple or 3 months - thanks!

Since you have an Air now, how does that work with your tasks? I would say the Air is fine, for all that you mentioned, though a M5 mac with active cooling would give you a bit more head room for demanding apps. you have the luxury of time and are now using a Mac.

An Air is probably fine, silent and significantly cheaper. Consider getting the smaller Air model and adding a monitor. The price difference might cover all or most of a decent much bigger monitor. Make sure it is a model that can plug into one of it's thunderbolt ports or get a laptop dock with HDMI.
