Accidentally deleted Quicktime with AppCleaner. How to get back?

My friend accidentally deleted Quicktime with AppCleaner. He has no time machine backups or suchlike and really doesn't want to restore his whole Mac. He is running 10.8.2 ML on a MBP 15". We have tried installing from a .app file I have sent him but it does not work. Please help.

Try putting in the applications disc you got with your Mac that should work. OR hack up what he can reinstall OS X and pull all the files.

What can you rip it from that DVD, btw Apple support is useless 😛

He did not get install discs with the mac as it was a new one with Lion preinstalled
