I accidentally pressed ctrl-F5 on my Macbook. And now its on mute. Tried everything. Does not speak. What should I do?

The mute button is unchecked and greyed out.
Also in the sound preferences output section, where it says choose a device for sound output, I only see digital out - built-in output. I don't see input speakers.

I just realized that the Mac is playing through external speakers, but only the internal ones are muted out.

does anyone have an answer to my original post?

Still don't have an answer. My Macbook is still on mute. Please someone help and advise.

The Mac will only play through one set of speakers at a time. If you have external ones plugged in, it will choose those over the internal ones.
