I accidentally turned on the flashlight on my iPhone 14 Pro Max this morning and I just noticed that it was on now. It was on for four hours without being shut off. Should I be concerned about any damage to my phone?

Thanks.

Probably not. Technically, LEDs decrease in brightness after so many hours of operation. But without knowing the specs what Apple asked contractors to build, it's impossible to say.

I have used my phone’s LED flashlight for way more more than 4 hours straight with no issue. I own an LED panel torch which is on a stand which is design to be on for an indefinite period, 4 hours is nothing.

This is exactly why Apple should give us the option to remove it from the Lock Screen. I’ve sent numerous requests but I guess they don’t see it as important enough.

Your phone will be fine don’t worry. Have you got back tap activated so when you double tap the back of your phone it activates the flashlight?

Four hours? I didn’t think that a phone flash was meant to be used for four hours in a row.
I have used phone flash light much longer than 4 hrs on remote hikes and over night camping. iPhone flash light isn’t my choice, but works very well when other options aren’t available.

It can be used for much longer than just a few hours. I think, if anything, the phone battery would stop working long before the flash does.

Totally annoying that the flashlight and camera buttons cannot be disabled from the lock screen.
I've had problems with both remaining on after inadvertently turning them on.

It's an LED, not an incandescent bulb, so I wouldn't worry about it. I have used it for an entire night when our power went out, and many times just like that, and many times in a pinch like working on a car at night, still no issues on my 2 year old iPhone 13 Pro. Battery life while using the light probably is the only concern.

I think that I accidentally turned it on while unplugging it. So the battery started at 100% and was at 81% after four hours.
