I didn't secure empty trash, is there a way to recover the file?
I always thought in Unix and hence Mac OSX once a file is deleted and then emptied from the trash it is gone forever due to the way Unix allocates and used hard drive space.
No, the space is just marked as being available for future writing.
You need a program like Data Rescue II to see if you can recover anything. Also, don't write to your hard drive if you can help it until you determine something can be recovered or not.
Data Rescue 2 to the rescue.
99dollars?? those space pictures dont worth 99dollars.. sorry, times are tough.
If it isn't worth the money, then there is nothing can really get them back.
Why do you have files in the trash that you don't want deleted???
Time Machine would have been useful here.
Agreed. That's like keeping your wedding photos in the garbage can for safe keeping. Then you'd get mad when you forgot to take them out on garbage night...
