I got the discount in the store even though I'm a dorky engineer.

They asked me what my wife did, and I told her she's a stay-at-home mom that USED to be a teacher. They asked where, I told them, and I immediately saved $300.

Not bad, considering they asked me.

He said he was already in the EDU store and forgot to go back to the regular store. Read before criticizing.

I did read, it's not an easy mistake to make, the kid would've known it was educational prices.

It doesn't bother me, and I'm not criticising, as I'd happily do the same and not feel guilty about it, but the OP in this instance is obviously not telling the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help you, God.

Apple never actually checks to see if you're a student so you won't get in trouble. If you want to be honest and pay the whole price I'm sure if you called up apple and explained the situation, they would be happy to remove the education discount from your order.

They most certainly do check, albeit randomly

Imac 21.5 at $1149..??

OK, where is the so called $300 savings through the EDU?
The new 21.5 Imac is at $1149
I could get a better deal through Amazon (no tax)...

I'm not worried, all I was wondering is if they did some sorta check, glad I saved the extra money then.

You're screwed! I heard there was a guy who once did the same thing. Went to jail for life and had to pay a $7,000,000 lawsuit. He also wasn't allowed to drink anything but water for his while sentence. His kids were sold as slaves and his wife works in a soup kitchen. BUT SHE CAN'T EVEN HAVE HER OWN SOUP!
