I've seen the space gray from the new iPod touch (SG3), and I prefer that one because it's the darkest. SG1 is way too close to silver.

1 or 3. 2 is almost silver and isn't a good "dark" option, as that is the only one that is being offered as "dark" for iPhone 6/6 Plus, for example.

I think it's a slighter darker, but still light, space gray. I thought they'd go with the same color as the new iPods. But it appears the same on their site. Some photos of the Verge had me thinking it was slightly darker.

Yea, the iPhone 6 space gray is the worst. Use a black silicon case so I don't notice but, I really want them to go back to the iPhone 5 dark vader color (black/dark blue tint). Best one.

I'm not sure, but I think it looked larger in the keynote.

Probably so the lighter sg colored iphone plays well with the other blinged out iphone colors in marketing materials. A dark sg wont flow as well when stacked amongst other iphones in a white background.
